It's one of the reasons diesels last longer: same power at lower RPM. My three diesels rarely get over 2,000 RPM. RPM is like voltage, torque is like amperage. You can get the same power via more of one or more of the other. When you get power from higher RPM rather than torque, you get more engine wear. It's pretty simple to understand that an engine run at 2,000 rpm is going to last twice as long as one run at 4,000 rpm. :::: Terrorism is the best political weapon, for nothing drives people harder than a fear of sudden death. -- Adolf Hitler :::: Jan Steinman <http://www.Bytesmiths.com> ============================================== List usage info: http://www.zuikoholic.com List nannies: olympusadmin@xxxxxxxxxx ============================================== |
