I have never been a big fan of the square format, although I do think it is
well suited to taking flower and fungi photographs, so I may actually give this
thing a snipe if it's still around tomorrow. Could be a fun thing to play with.
As for chasing bugs with this 9-lb. monster, I don't see that happening; that's
what the OM gear is for. Besides, at my age, I don't chase much of anything
anymore; I sit and hope it comes to me.
I think, though, that one of the most useful accessories for this camera might
well be a shovel, as in: haul the thing to an idyllic spot full of wildflowers,
set it up on a sturdy tripod right behind the SUV, which can act as a
windbreak, then take the shovel, stroll about looking for something photogenic
within less than 500 yards, dig it up, bring it back, and fire away. Just
think about those 6x6cm Velvia trannies! And I can always take the best stuff
home to plant in the yard -- but only where it's legal, of course. ;-)
Oh, and FYI: I've got Horseman, Mamiya and Graphic roll film backs, and they're
all pretty much the same size.
Walt, who really, really needs another old, obsolete camera
