The Olympus 1.4x teleconverter works very well with the Tamron 180mm f2.5.
Last time I looked KEH had a couple for sale at a reasonable price (about
the going yaBe price). The Tamron 1.4x teleconverter is labeled 140F. IRRC
I've seen a few also labeled SP but most aren't. I think the only difference
is the label. Tamron also made some fixed lens mount teleconverters. I
haven't seen an Olympus 1.4x version but they may exist. Be sure you don't
get a fixed version that is intended for a non-OM. The end that mates to the
lens is rather unique for adaptall versions (same at the adapter).
The hood on the Tamron is pretty nice; it can be reversed over the lens, but
it is big. The Zuiko 180mm f2.8 is smaller when you include the hood.
