My first real camera was an OM-10. When it went wrong I part-ex'd it for an
OM-1N. Not wanting to offend, but I didn't get on with the OM-10 -- it's manual
mode was crap. But I almost bought one as a knock-about camera for the boat,
then I remembered the lack of sensible manual control, and on a boat that is no
use. And with OM-1's going for less than £40 now, I really couldn't see much
reason not to spend the extra tenner on that.

I never understood why they didn't do that. Nor the self-timer (or lack of) for
that matter.

I presume you mean the 3Ti here, rather than the 1. I think spending about
twice as much on a camera which offers, all-in-all, much less functionality and
many fewer features than the 4Ti, is quite difficult to justify.
