No offence taken here. I used to have a professional linguist (PhD) to watch
over me and make the necessary corrections but no longer have that service
available. I should have paid more attention to what he did. I have a
tendency to do what sounds right and to hell with the rules. My daughter is
an English teacher but she has given up on me. /jmac

Actually, I was given it for my birthday this year and I thought that
Lynne Truss was great. I now listen to her on Radio 4 whenever I she
is on and I am planning to arm myself with black and white marker pens
to "help" the unititiated around where I live and work!
