Brilliant! I must admit I've always found the Jaguar the more appealing
aircraft. It always looks the business whereas the Tornado looks a bit
corpulent.
I know what you mean about it being cold up there. The day I was there
the weather was really sunny but it must have been near freezing with a
gale force wind blowing. The amount of geology being done was minimal
due to the weather (and then the bombing began and work stopped
completely!). It was October though!
Not sure how interesting you find Cold War structures but there is an
old Rotor station at Faraid Head. There are some good pictures of this
