Judging from its white colour, it wouldn't be foam residues but fungus I
think. Add they're not simple marks dyed on the side walls, they seemed to
protrude a couple of tenths of a milimeter.
In fact the body was stored inside an original leather Olympus case, for
more than ten years -judging from the unfinished film I unloaded!!-, who
knows inside which drawer. And Uruguay is such an humid and coldish
country... (except during the summer, humid and hot)
In fact, the G. Zuiko 4xx.xxx has a moderate amount of fungus too. But
camera is in such a good shape otherwise...
Recently held an ugly Nikkormat which had more fungii inside than paint :^)
