When buying Duracell batteries ignore the use by date on the front. On the
back look for a printed series of numbers and letters something like 4a***.
Only the first two have any real meaning the number is the last number in
the year that the battery was made. The letter is the month a=January.
The rest are a factory location code where the battery was made. The date
on the front is more of a marketing scheme John Gettis
