The Eyecoupler is a mere spacer or distant holder,
no optical elements.
My OM sales folder from '78 states:
"Summary
This is a convinient unit to connect various
components of the Finder Group to the
viewfinder eye piece."
"Main Characteristics
For use of the Varimagni Finder in photomicrography,
thins unit fits in between the viewfinder eyepiece
and the Varimagni Finder. It ensures full coverage
of the finder field of view."
"The Eyecoupler is required when the Varimagni
Finder is used in conjunction with Focusing
Screen 1-12 for photomicrography."
"When the 250 Film Back is used together with the
Eyecup 1, this unit is used to link them."
