We all got those rates at that time (and hell it hurt in Aus). We just
had an election where the incumbent claimed that interest rates would
go up under the others because they did in the past. Garbage. A
government leader has very little control over that and I should
imagine your prez may have even less. People still believed it though.
Scare tactics beat policy debate every time.
Much like lens and body debates i suppose.
