I haven't bought anything on Boo-Bay in six or eight months, have only bid once
lately, and that was just for fun to get things started on an OM-3Ti. My
bidding/sniping philosophy has always been to look at an item, figure out
exactly the maximum amount I would pay for it and still think I got a good
deal, snipe it for that amount, then fuddedaboudit -- set it and forget it.
I'm too competitive, especially late at night if I'm in my cups, as I rarely,
but occasinally, am, to get caught up in live, last-minute, idiot bidding.
Been there, done that, regretted it later. And I always bid in odd amounts.
For example, I bid $888.88 on a LN 35-80/2.8 Zuiko and $777.77 on a 300/2.8
Tamron with all the accessories, got the former for $888.50 and the latter for
$775.00. I bid in amounts like $222.22, $101.01 or $234.56, and so on.
Or I used to. I'm now semi-retired; got all I need, just not all I want. But
I've still got 2000 eSnipe points, and I'd hate to waste them.
Walt, odd any way you look at it
