I need to free up some space in my camera cabinet, so I'm offering the
following items to the list... these are items I acquired in my early
"experimental" OM phase, when I was picking up interesting items, generally
in "user" condition, just to try out new and different things with my OM's
- like various focal lengths, before committing the big bucks for a Zuiko.
These are generally not pristine, collector quality items, but all are
functional and have been interesting to experiment with over the years.
Much of this gear has come to me from past and present list members. All
are offered with a money-back commitment, should you find the item doesn't
work for you. E-mail me off-list if you are interested or want additional
information. I prefer to ship via USPS Insured Priority Mail, and will add
only the actual postage costs. Payment by check or money order, please.
1. Samyang-Phoenix 18~28mm f/4~4.5 Zoom lens. Purchased in July 2001 from
National Camera Exchange, this is a user-grade lens - clean optics, good
iris action, smooth focus and zoom, some scratches on the body. Front and
back caps (generic). Not as highly regarded as the Vivitar 19~35, but I
found it to be a cheap way to try out ultra-wide angle photography. I'm
selling this one because I picked up a brand new one somewhere along the
line. $60.
2. Vivitar 28mm f/2 lens. Purchased in August 2001 on e*ay. This lens is
in good condition - shows little or no wear on the body. There is a hint of
a blemish or scratch on the front element, visible under a bright light.
Iris is crisp. Generic front and rear caps. $45.
3. Carsen 135mm f/2.8 "Macro" lens. Purchased in September 2001 from a List
Member. An interesting lens in good condition - there is a slight ding in
the finish on the front edge of the lens (does not effect the filter
threads). As I understand it, Carsen is or was a Canadian Photo store, and
this appears to be a "house brand" item. What makes it unique in my
experience is the added "Macro" focusing (to 1:5) accomplished by a second
helicoid at the front of the lens that seems to move only the front
element(s)! Includes a no-name haze filter, plus generic front and rear
caps. $45.
4. Vivitar 200mm f/3.5 lens. Purchased November 2001 on e*ay. A fairly
hefty lens in good condition all around. Has a built-in sliding lens hood
that stays put. Includes generic front and rear caps. $45.
5. Phoenix 24mm f/2.8 lens. Purchased January 2002 on e*ay. Essentially a
new lens, a camera store display item... but it has one small problem - it
doesn't focus to infinity! This may be a simple fix for someone with the
right tools and knowledge - but playing with this one convinced me I liked
the 24mm "look", so now I have two 24mm Zuikos (f/2 and f/2.8). Comes with
original front and rear caps. $35.
6. Tamron 75~250mm f/3.8~4.5 Adaptall Zoom lens. Purchased July 2002 on
e*bay. An interesting lens with a non-OM4-friendly Adaptall 2 mount, good
cosmetic condition BUT -- what looks like a spray of very fine oil drops on
one of the inner elements. This has to have an effect on image sharpness,
but I've gotten some nice images with it by watching the lighting. I wound
up with a similar 60~300 Tamron, so this can go to someone else to
experiment with! Original Tamron front cap in good shape, generic rear cap.
$20.
7. Tamron F-series 300mm f/5.6 lens. Purchased November 2002 from a List
Member. In great condition, with pouch, original box, instruction sheet,
original front and rear caps, and a sliding lens hood. This is a fixed
mount lens, not an Adaptall version. I bought this one to again see if I
"liked" the 300mm focal length before pursuing a Zuiko - I did, and now
have a Zuiko 300mm f/4.5, so this lens can go to a new home. $80.
8. I.R.Vision 0.42X Fisheye Converter with 49mm adapter ring. Purchased
January 2003 from a List Member. Now this was a true "experiment" - I'd
read about the fun effects that cheap from converters could produce, and
wanted to try it for myself. This one an original front cap, a "press on"
rear cap that really doesn't fit, and comes in a little leather case. The
converter actually has a Series 7 thread, but the included Series 7 -> 49mm
ring seems to be stuck on tighter than my fingers can overcome! One
surprise I discovered when this item arrived is the bright ruby red coating
on the front element... the image looking through the converter does seem a
little "red poor". I suppose there is a reason for this coating in the
world of video cameras where this adapter comes from... Something to play
with if that appeals to you. Produces a full circular image when used with
a 24mm lens. Longer lenses produce a less pronounced fisheye effect. $20.
9. Super Albinar Automatic 2X Tele-Converter. Purchased April 2002 on e*ay.
Can't say much about this one, other than it's clean, comes with front and
rear generic caps, a leather case, the original box and instructions.
Probably worth my asking price just for the caps! $5.
10. Tokina RMC 35~105mm f/3.5~4.3 SMZ105 Zoom lens. Purchased April 2002 on
e*ay. Bought this one while shopping for a Zuiko 35~105 (which I eventually
acquired from Tom Scales). This lens is in good condition, and includes a
soft leather-like pouch, generic front and rear caps, and original
instruction sheet. This lens looks very much like the Zuiko 35~105,
including a separate "close focus" ring. The implementation of the close
focus function differs, however. This one would be hard to part with if I
wasn't so pleased with the Zuiko 35~105! $70.
11. Olympus T-20 Flash (for parts - it doesn't fire). Bought recently on
e*ay from a seller who quickly refunded my money when the flash arrived DOA
(and didn't want it back, either). Charging circuit hums and the ready
light comes on, but no discharge. Free to anyone who wants it (for the cost
of shipping, of course... ask for it with another item and I'll throw it in
completely gratis). $0.
12. Tokina SD 35~200mm f/4~5.6 Macro Zoom lens. Purchased just this June
from a List Member's OM Stuff sale. Nice lens, original caps, just a bit
slow for my tastes. Had thought my son might have use for it on his OM-PC,
but he's too busy working his Post-Doc studies to get excited over another
lens. $25.
13. Achiever DZ260 Dedicated Thyristor Flash for Olympus OM. Purchased
November 2001 from a List Member. Fully functional TTL flash with tilt/zoom
head, two non-TTL auto aperture settings plus manual. Output somewhere
between a T-20 and a T-32. Uses 4 AA cells. No corrosion. Made in China. $25.
14. Electronic Power Winder for Olympus model OM-1. Purchased November 2001
from a List Member. Made in China. This is one of the winders that was sold
under a number of store names, and may even still be available new at B&H.
It is all plastic, noisy, but slightly lighter than an Olympus Winder 2. It
has continuous and single settings, with the selector switch on a collar
around the release button, versus the bottom of the winder. No remote
socket, but there is a MD port cover storage space that will actually
accommodate the port cover from the later model OM's. I'm still looking for
the interval timer version of this winder (the OM-1TR), though not with a
lot of energy. This winder is very clean - no scrapes or scratches. Takes 4
AA batteries. $25.
Prices are semi-negotiable, so if you are interested but think I've wildly
overpriced an item, send me a note and maybe we can come to an agreement.
Please take all correspondence off list!
