I recently purchased a lens which didn't properly engage an OM-4 body to tell it the aperture. Inspection showed that the aperture setting tab was bent in towards the center of the lens. A careful adjustment of the bent tab corrected the problem. I see the aperture setting tab on the 65-116 is not as rigidly held in its relatively wide slot as are the ones on most lenses. There is definitely some side to side play, so a slight mismatch in alignment with the matching mechanical connection in the body could easily result in it sliding by.
