Hi Dean,
Coincidentally I was just asked the exact same question on another list.
This was my reply.
'First off I like a good sky so I lean toward red or orange filtration but
if
the scene has lots of green, or more specifically, lots of different shades
of green I go with the green filter. I know that the green will hold
something of the sky that I can 'burn in' later in PhotoShop but I tend to
reduce the amount of sky in the frame when using a green filter if
compositionally viable. Please be aware that I get my fair share
of 'what the hell happened there?' moments when I get them developed :-)'
Hope you don't think me discourteous for cutting and pasting my reply but it
was the same question :-) Thanks for looking.
