For unmounted film, generally the answer is yes. The frame spacing of
the film holder on mine varies ever so slightly from the spacing from my
OMs, so getting every last bit sometimes requires moving a frame down
the strip from the first one in its frame a tiny bit. It's way better
than typical automated prints, which can lose a lot

With mounted slides, scanners will capture anything that isn't blocked
by the mount.

I'm out of date on that. My 2720 dpi Can*n is passe by now, except to
me. It continues to do a great job with no trouble. There are LOTs of
reviews and opinions out there about scanners. Ken Rockwell has lots of
info and opinions in a decent site
<http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/scanner.htm>. It looks like $500 isn't
a price point at the moment. It's under 3000 dpi for $300 or over 4000
dpi for over $800, more or less.
