I recently bought a Russian Konvas 1M off the dreaded auction site. The
seller was in Seoul and had no feedback history, so I was skeptical. I
emailed him and told him as much and he suggested we use escrow.com to
hold the money until I had the camera and was happy with it. It arrived
this afternoon and I'm frankly amazed. This is a 50-year-old Russian
35mm motion picture camera kit with five magazines and six prime lenses
and it looks like it's never been used. The rubber around the
viewfinder seems to have deteriorated and been sliced off, but other
than that it's like I'm holding a brand new camera. There's even an
owner's manual and a booklet of lens tests that have been signed-off by
the tester and then stamped with a government seal. For $680 I think I
did alright. Here are some (crappy digital) photos of it all that I
shot in the back yard a little while ago.
