That (use of Leica) was what I thought too, but if you look at the entries
for 1957 on this site
http://observer.guardian.co.uk/JaneBown/JaneBown_gallery.swf you will see
him holding what I think is NOT a Leica (and not a Kiev either, but I may be
wrong!). And in passing through the home page, you can test your skills in
distinguishing an OM-1 fromn an OM-2.
The Obit on the radio this evening suggested he gave up photography 30 years
ago - that maybe explains why he didn't use Olympus?

He always used L*ica, as far as I know. Although the originality of some of
his early masterpieces was questioned, his ability to grab-the-moment never
was. Magnum continues to be vital to this day. My understanding was that
he had recently given up the camera in favor of his first loves - drawing
and painting.
A loss, nonetheless.
