I agree with Tom on almost everything. The problem for me is the lack of
MF lens compatibility. As I've mentioned before, All but the most
expensive Nik*n SLRs and DSLRs do not meter AT ALL with ANY lenses but
the later electronic AF lenses. You must use a separate meter and set
aperture and shutter speed in manual mode. I have a handful of old
Nikk*rs and a Viv S1 70-210 zoom, etc. but would not be able to meter
with them on a D70/100.
As to the optical adapters, they aren't optically nearly as bad as one
might imagine <http://medfmt.8k.com/bronmounts.html#opto>. And they are
available for OM to Nik*n F mount. However, as above, no metering at all.
