Mine had a cloudy rear element that I beleive came from the unstable
lubricant they used in these lenses. Fortunately, it does all come apart in
the rear element assembly. I had to disassemble mine to clean it up, and it
is quite a project.
I have a Tokina ATX 28-85/3.5-4.5, this Vivitar/Kiron 28-85/2.8-3.8, and
Vivitar 28-80/3.5-4.5 besides a couple others in this 28-80 range. I like
the Vivitar 28-80 the best. It's number starts with 77xxxxx...... so I think
it is Kororbi made, perhaps in the mid '90's, or a bit earlier. I just have
to remember it gives a very cool image in some situations.
