Introduced with the 3Ti as far as I recall, making it early to mid 90s.
I have a lingering memory that it was described by Geoffrey Crawley in the
UK magazine Amateur Photographer as the best zoom lens (of any
sort/brand/range) that they have ever tested. But I don't have an
attribution, so treat it as hearsay.
