For the Stylus Epic (35/2.8), the shutter speed range is 4 sec. to
1/1000. I don't know the specifications for the Stylus 35/3.5 model.

Anyone know the top shutter speed of the epic? I usually put fast
film in, which can be a problem in bright situations where the camera
runs out of shutter speed. The spot meter mode also locks focus,
so you point with half-depress, then re-frame to shoot. The camera
will focus on background rather than foreground sometimes, so that
is a useful feature. My guess on top speed is 1/500. It has pretty good
low light metering. The little Olympus tripod is a great little accessory,
(see http://www.zuik.net/om/low_6282557.jpg on the right) as well as
the little remote. For the price, probably one of the best around.
