Ok, now you've explained something. The "old technology" is
superior for non-AF applications because it was optimized for
manual use. A modern wonderbrick (digital or film) is about as
bad at some uses as an OM-1 is at taking digital photos.

Well, Joel, you can make it up by packing your 20-gallon
tupperware boxes with Zuiko gear and coming over for a day of
shooting. I'll discipline myself to bringing out ONLY items
that have "Olympus" stamped on them. (Hmm... Crown "Olympus"
Graphic? Olympus Graphic? Crown Zuiko?)
