I thought in order for it to be real Texas 'cue it had to be cooked in some
contraption made out of at least one cut-in-half oil drum.
I must admit, the best smoker I ever had was made from an oil drum, that I
had customized a little with a few concrete pavers to get the fire off the
bottom of the drum, create ventilation, retain heat and provide a place for me
to
put a pan of water. Paid about $40 for it at Academy surplus and it cooked
many a great brisket. The one I have now is an up town version made out of
1/4"
steel plate complete with a fire box at one end and smoker at the other. Cost
about what a good OM 4T would run you. I haven't been able to replicate the
results with a brisket yet. That maybe because it never held toxic chemicals
in an earlier life. Still not gonna use no damn flower pots. {{8^) Bill Barber
