The retiring gift to a very long serving chief accountant at the MG Abingdon
works was one of the last MGB GT. The MGB was not a 'model' of highly
automated manufacturing but in many ways a handbuilt one - and the one
presented to him was, to all intents, custom coachbuilt, reflecting the
esteem in which he was held by his colleagues throughout the works.
Entirely standard, but finished to a degree unheard of.
I know the license plate/registraion number. If it ever turns up used...
