Not so crazy. When the Morris Minor was discontinued in England in 1962
(?) some people managed to acquire the tooling and continued to make
major components for it (and, I suspect, still do) as the vehicle has a
fanatical following. There is a specialist in melbourne who still
rebirths them - 'woody' estates and convertibles command very good
prices. There was also the fan who created the only genuine 1963 model
- self built entirely from spares. Cost him 3-4 times the retail price
of a 1962 new example off the floor, not allowing for the labour! But
it is unique, of course. One that reckoning, a genuine 2005 Boutique
Engineered OM4Ti should sell for around $10,000!
