Thanks, Mickey. I've not been where there are cicadas in many years (at
least, I don't recall hearing any here in California) and although I
remember seeing their discarded cases, don't recall ever watching one
emerge.

Rough guesstimate is an hour and a half. It takes a while for them to
harden
up. I'd say the 1.5 hours was from the first crack of the shell to the
shot
of the flop-eared bunny looking head on shot. The shot of the shell and
the
former tenant was probably 40 minutes later. You can see it's got it's
wings
down and the color is changing.
