I have some astropics skill, mainly in night sky, but I also managed to do
in the past some solar photos.
First problem, with a 500 mm telephoto, you probably will see quite
nothing. Diameter on the film will be around 0.14 mm (if the venus diameter
is 60 arcsec as I remember). You have to limit the exposure to very short
time, in order not to blur the image due to air movement.
For the exposure, I would suggest to try in advance. If you have a spot
camera (OM2-sp, OM3, OM4), you can start with the spot metering directly on
the sun.
