I think it is 2 percent rather than 2 degrees.
Perhaps a trigonometrician will confirm that there is no difference between
the two when a 229mm lens is fitted.

I think I recall it is 2 degrees. It meters the area of the outer circle of
the round microprism circle in the viewfinder, no matter what lens is
attached.
