There is certainly an IR filter in place.

I'd be curious to see the E-1 shot with an even darker filter, like a B+W 093 
or Hoya RM90.

The IR capabilities of the E-1 are pretty much limited to landscapes or people 
that sit very, very still.  But the quality is nice.
