Subject: [OM] Where to buy Olympus E-1
As I begin this journey, the question arises as to where to deposit my
Olympus money. Although I would like to patronize my local purveyor of
camera goods
there are a number of reasons which might have me look elsewhere. Their
pricing seems to be 10 to 15% higher, to which you need to add sales tax
of about
8 1/4 per cent and there doesn't seem to be anyone there who knows
anything
about the system. If something goes wrong with it, I can take it back
to them
and have them send it to Olympus or I could send it to Olympus myself.
I'm
pretty sure I don't want their guys monkeying with it when or if a
problem
arises. They are, after all, the same guys who tried to force the wrong
motor drive
cap into one of my OM cameras.
Cameta has these on ebay all the time and it looks like they can be
purchased
for slightly less than the going retail/street price. The other two
options
I've considered are B&H and Adorama, both of whom I've had good
experiences
with in the past. I do want gear that has been imported through Olympus
USA.
Does anyone have any suggestion on where to get this type of equipment?
