I have not sent the lens yet but am going to take it down I removed the
front element and clean most of the gunk off so the lens is usable. I live
in Southern California and have talked my wife into taking the lens to them
and then going on to the Long Beach Aquarium. I had one of my wife's
lenses cleaned by them a few years ago and they did a good job. Come to
think of it for the same reason. I think that the grease on the helicord
must leak off to the inside of the lens.
