You can download a 30 day trial version of CS from Adobe. There are a couple
of extra functions although, for me, the primary reason for using CS is the
16 bit file handling which is supported far more extensively than in 7.
There are RAW plugins which I believe (I'm not certain) includes the E-1.
File browser is better.
CS is a lot heavier on the machine, particularly if you are using 16-bit and
you may well find processing times to be very slow.
Download and try it, there is virtually no difference in user interface.

There is a new contrast reduction feature that appears to work wonders with
really contrasty sun/shade shots. I believe that you can download a trial
version from Adobe.com. I have one that came on a CD attached to a magazine
but I haven't tried it yet. I am sure that it is no easier than 7 or any
other version of PS - all demand a lot of effort.
