A comment re the 24mm.
I have two early lens handbooks; one is dated IEMZLG.0173; the other,
earlier, where the date has unfortunately been torn off, is presumably
IEMZ1LG.0173.
Z1LG has the 400/4.5 and the 36mm long 24/2.8 with 9 elements; ZLG.0173 has
no 400/4.5, and a 31mm 24/2.8.
This means that Olympus already in Jan 1973 had determined that the 24/2.8
was an 8-element design (and that some of the other lenses from the first
Jan'73 catalogue would not be produced). So a 9-element 24/2.8 was probably
never produced, just like some other lenses in the manual (300/6.3,
400/4.5).

Specs are for a 9/7 (I Zuiko)!
Diagram is for an 8/7 as produced.

BTW this lens is used in silhouette on the front page of the Telephoto
Group
right up until the format change in 79/80. Bit cheeky really.
18mm
listed as the proposed lens only, with diagram.
24mm /2.8
Listed as 9/7 36mm length
By 01/75 it had been changed to 8/7 and 31mm
