Let me add a belated word of caution about this flashlight business. I would
strongly suggest that you NOT use one of these new-fangled LED flashlights for
this purpose. I've got a couple that we use for camping and other nocturnal
activities, one with 9 LEDs and one with 15. They are great outdoors at night
and shine brightly for hours and hours on a single set of batteries. But they
can cause eye damage if you look directly into the light, I have been told --
at least, that's what the printed warning that came with them says -- and I'm
sure concentrating the light through a lens would only increase the potential
for injury.
Let's be careful out there.
