Another thing to consider is a third party lens hood. B&H Photo lists (and
shows) many many hoods on their web site. I generally forgot to consider the
third party hoods myself, until I saw their pages.
I also just obtained a Zuiko 35-105 lens from a German seller, and the
auction made no mention of a lens hood (unless Babel-Fish translator and I both
missed it). Upon arrival, I was greatly surprised (and happy) to see a Hoya
collapsible rubber hood was included. It is 55mm screw-in, and very well made,
very
thick. Collapsed, it extends approx 7/8 of an inch from the lens, and
extended, 1 1/2 inches.
