Brian,

Your criticisms of the Digest are all probably valid, but changing the
behaviour of other list members will be impossible.  I just subscribe to
the individual messages and deal with each one as I see fit (skip or
read).  This just seems so much easier than having to "manage" the
indigestible.  How do you eat an elephant ?
