Chris,
I used Tri X for years and processed my own films but they
'professionalised' it then at about the same time I couldn't get ordinary
D76 from the local Jessops they could only get Professional D76 for use in
'deep tank processors only'. Contrast went through the roof and I started
decreasing development time but couldn't settle on an ideal so I ditched it
and went chromogenic. Tried a few and Portra and T400CN were my favourites
so I settled on them. I now find that Portra and T400CN are discontinued and
will be replaced by Kodak400BW or somesuch. I may buy in a load of T400CN to
keep me going.
