If my memory is not totally making things up, I think this was one of
the companies that sprung up during the charge toward minimalist
circuits as a reaction to preamps with controls like a 747. The idea
was to keep everything out of the circuit you can because all that
stuff just introduces distortion. The analogy for the ideal was a wire
with gain. I never saw a review of it, but it was probably a pretty
good high end preamp.
