Markus, as best I know, Olympus in UK has no service facility of its own, no
stock of service parts, and no 4Ti. All their service work (eg for pro
photographers provided with cameras 'by arrangement' as well as warranty
work) is passed on to an independently-owned service agent who then has the
problem of locating spares. The agent has already picked up Olympus service
work (and spares stock) from Germany and (I think) Denmark, with the
possibility of more as Olympus pulls out of the OM market.
Same agent was particularly pleased to receive a request from Olympus UK for
a new-old-stock 4Ti to meet an order from a pro customer. It was duly
supplied to Oly at a cost of ~USD2100 (excl tax). Hence I don't think you
should hold your breath for a replacement (though I think the service agent
has stock). Most likely they will simply send it over for repair.
But I can recommend the agent as a European John Hermanson!

Hi.
I purchased a brand new OM 4TI from Olympus last spring. After 5-10 rols, i
had a complete lockup this weekend. It's still covered by the warrant.
I talked to Olympus Norway, but they are sending the body to England. They
really didn't have any clue what would be done to the camera. Have any of
you got experience with Olympus regarding these kind of repairs. Do the
replace the camera, or do the repair no matter what might be the fault? I'm
really hoping for a replace, since this early fault by no means convince me
that this could be a long lasting, faithful body.
