Agreed. The general Epson software is quite good, particularly with
regard to color. It is often pretty dang difficult to tell a print
printed with "Photo Realistic" from a custom profile.

Interesting you should point this out, Winsor, because Vincent
LaForet on SportsShooter.com said the same thing recently; after a
lot of testing, he found Genuine Fractals to be a waste of money. I
found the same to be true of S-Spline 1, but I really do like Fred
Miranda's Stair Interpolation and for roughly $12 or $15, to be an
excellent value. But I think the ImagePrint RIP improvements are the
real deal. As you say, we are all nitpicky about different things. I
was merely trying to help Dick Smith with insights into his B&W
printing problem.

Yes, I know what you're talking about. A lot of the others are geeks
more than they are photographers, methinks...more interested in pixel
count than CA. My Oly C-4040Z, while a very nice camera in many
respects, had the same purple aberrations. My little Canon S-45 is a
really nice little camera, though. The other digital P&S Prosumer
camera I really like is the C-5060Z. Oly hit a home run with that one.
