I was at Best Buy tonight buying some stuff to upgrade the old beige
G3/G4 Mac desktop (an Adaptec USB 2.0/Firewire card, and a new 4 port
USB 2.0 hub to go with it-now the 2200 will print faster), and was
browsing DVD's. All alone in the older, less well known movie section
was the documentary, "War Photograher" about the photojournalist
James Nachtwey. I bought it and watched a little of it on the X-box
tonight, and it is quite a remarkable film. He has a microcamcorder
on his Canon SLR so you can see what he is taking a picture of when
he makes a photograph. Of course, there are shots of his remarkable
stills as well, and comments by his fellow journalists, e.g.
Christiane Amanpour (sic?), etc. It is very interesting to see a
documentary on him working. And oh, yes, he takes lots of photos...
Well worth renting or buying if you want to see a Pulitzer Prize
winning photojournalist at work. Recommended for photographers
everywhere! ;-)
