I wouldn't get the list members too worked up to go out and get an OM-PC. I
had one for a long time but sold it to finance one of my early OM-4Ti
purchases. It worked great. I really don't know how the ESP metering worked so
well, I
know it's a simple 2-zone thing that ignores backlighting, but it seems it
only ignored it when it should, IOW, if the lighting _wouldn't_ throw off the
exposure, I don't think it came into play.
(BTW- with all the recent talk of how Olympus changed the shutter curtain
meter pattern on the OM-2; the original pattern, the horizontal band of dots
completely through the middle, was said to be a great help in combating
backlighting situations.)
Anyway, over the past couple of years I've tried to get another PC, but I
have taken delivery of 3 or 4 and they all showed faults in their workings,
mostly electronics, and I returned them all. I think it's getting very
difficult
to find reliable ones.

I disposed of all the lenses (yes, even a Zuiko) to fund repair of the
OM-PC, because it was worth the price. The net cost after proceeds of sale
and $150 for the repair was pretty much nil - :-), but still, think about
what you get with the -PC:
In-built bright focussing screen, almost 2-series;
Program mode for grab shots when you don't have time to set anything;
TTL metering which is similar to what is provided on the Oly digital
cameras, with ESP automatic backlight compensation;
full compatibility with Motor Drive (OK, not at 5 fps); and
full compatibility with T series flashes including TTL flash metering.
And DX coding too!
One more thing, bar a complete circuit replacement, it is still repairable
too.
All that in a camera which I am not worried about damaging, losing, lending
to son/daughters.
I suspect you are converted anyway - if not, convince yourself.
