I don't know what Bond 527 is, but you don't want to over glue it. Many
repairs require removing the leather covering, so you don't want it
glued on permanantly. A brown rubber cement type glue like Pliobond,
Barge, or Sho-Goo, or whatever it's called now, are perfect, enough
hold, but will release nicely when necessary. If ever working around the
back latch, don't get it down inside or you will be sorry when the
camera doesn't open next time.
