Has anybody got any experience using the distance limit mode of the newer
Quantum flash units?

Although it is not too difficult to limit the reflected light time of flight
acceptance, with a
very fast photo-detector etc., you still have a problem knowing the relative
area of the subject
unless you use more than one detector with different acceptance angles.
(something like OM40 back
light comp)
It would be interesting to hear how well this technology works in practise.
