Hi, George.
Nothing cheap looking or feeling about the Pentax *ist D. Very good
looking and very solid feeling. Metal body with plastic/rubber coating.
Good secure grip. The viewfinder is a wow compared to others. It is
small though. I was quite serious about being reminded of the first
time I picked up an OM-1 compared to other SLR's of the time.
The manual didn't say anything about it but looking inside the camera
the viewscreen seems to be inside a latched frame ala OM. I could be
wrong about that and, unfortunately, I was not about to go probing
around in there to prove it.
