Most of them don't stay around for long. I think you'll be on an ongoing
mission to replace them again and again. After stating that, I know someone
will
chime in that they have their original one still in place since 1972. I think
some hot shoes may vary in size and therefore, fit, so once you lose it, IMO,
you'd be prone to lose another. You'd think they'd all be in the bottom of your
camera bag, but noooo, I suspect they go to the same place that your missing
socks from the clothes dryer go.
