I do experience this with mine, and have observed that the QR plate isn't usually held as tightly as it is in the big 3-way head. As far as expensive QR plates, I have something like three or four of them. Bought two tripods, so that accounted for two of them, was given one and bought the fourth. I can load up all of my cameras with them. It is kinda funny seeing an XA with a hex plate on the bottom and mounted on a 3221 tripod. >For really accurate work the geared head is my choice now. >It's gotta be good cause Walt recommended it.
