I'll just touch the first one. "Most" silvernose lenses have different
formulations than the blacknose versions, but not always. For example, the
fast wide lenses (21/2, 24/2, 28/2, 35/2) were always multicoated, even when
they were silvernose. Their optical design/coating may have changed over
their life, but it did not always coincide with the change to blacknose (I
don't think). The 75-150 has been the same formulation for most of its
life, even after the 'color change'. I believe there was a slight varation
later.
Personally, I like the results of the silvernose lenses. They are prone to a
little more flare, but I don't find that to be a huge problem.
