Just from drooling over the manual it seems there are several ways to
slow down a file write such as:
- (especially) noise reduction (see page 96)
- other image processing functions (sharpen, contrast, saturation,
colorspace mapping,
- write both raw AND jpeg formats
- ...

Odd, Stephen, that virtually no other reviewers have noticed the
problems you did. I've shot with the D60 and the E-1, and there is
absolutely NO discernable difference in write speed, or image review
speed. ...
