OK, enough of this digital stuff. I can't afford to think about the E-1
at the moment. So here is an OM question.
I've been using the 35-105 rubber lens hood on my 90/2, partly
for protection and partly in the belief that it improves flair. However, I
have noticed on some of my longer exposures in diffuse light a
decrease in contrast. I was wondering if the rubber hood is actually
bouncing light into the lens. Gary R had mentioned problems with
rubber hoods, but I thought that was with a direct light.
So, is there a way to improve the 'blackness' of the rubber hoods?
The effect is subtle, how can I best test the effect of the hood on
contrast?
